Reddiyo’s dynamic training plans are custom built for you and adapt based on your performance. Every week, your plan will include cycling workouts specific to your needs and training schedule. We want to give you as many options for performing your workouts as possible. Therefore, we are happy to announce the release of our Workout Player. Now you can perform your workouts directly in the app and monitor your progress throughout the entire ride.
You can still use your bike computer but with this player it isn’t necessary. The app will pair directly to your sensors (power, heart rate, cadence, or bike trainer) and guide you through the workout. You can ride outside or inside on a trainer or stationary bike. If you are performing your workout on a smart trainer then it will control the resistance directly for you! (Smart trainer integration is currently in beta.)
Connect Your Devices
To get started visit the workout details screen and select “ride indoors” or “ride outside”. This will load the workout in the player. From here you can click the “link sensors” button on the bottom left to pair the devices that you want to connect to (e.g. HR strap, bike trainer, power meter, cadence sensor). Once you have paired a device then the app will automatically reconnect for future workouts.
Ride Indoors or Out
The player is built to allow you to perform your workout indoors or out. If you choose to ride outside for your cycling workout then we will use GPS to track your location, elevation, and speed. If you ride inside then your speed will be calculated from your wheel revolutions (when available).
View Your Completed Workout
Once you have completed your workout we will process your performance data and show you your workout results. Don’t forget to provide feedback on the ride (pencil icon, lower right corner).
We are very happy with the initial release of the player but we are not stopping here. We have more features planned for the near future. Most notably:
Third Party Integrations - We will be integrating with downstream systems (e.g. Strava) and publishing your completed Reddiyo workout directly to them if you choose.
Free Rides - Sometimes you just want to ride with no agenda. The player will allow you to record rides that are not prescribed. So you can capture your data without worrying about intervals and instructions to follow.
Auto Start/Stop - We’ll use GPS to auto pause the workout when riding outside, removing the need to manually stop and start again when pausing at stop lights.
Audio Cues - Audio cues will be added to notify you when a new interval is starting.
